At New World, we promote guided meditation, both as an introduction for new meditators and for those who simply find it to be a more effective way to meditate. Done in a group setting to soothing music, the themes vary from week to week. This is a powerful tool that helps to change the nervous system, resulting in a relaxed mind and body. Offered every Tuesday from 5:30-6:20pm, Wednesday from 3:30-4:20pm, and Thursday from 7:30-8:20pm. Investment: $12.00 or use your pass.
Learn To Meditate - A Two Week Course
Are you stressed out? Looking for a way to keep your life in balance, lower your blood pressure, or to simply relax? This course is a commitment of only two nights per week for two weeks, plus your daily time at home. We’ll explore various styles of meditation, experiment with breath work, mantras, mudras, malas, chants and journaling. Between classes you’ll practice at home and discover what resonates best with you. After two weeks you will know how to regularly practice meditation on your own. Your new skill will serve you for the rest of your life, which makes this a great investment in yourself!
We’ll meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 15, 17, 22 and 24 from 7:30-8:30 pm. Wear comfortable clothing. We offer several options for sitting: cushions, benches, chairs, and blankets.
